Reinforcements
Sometimes we don't even perceive our need. Life is moving along at its normal pace and we are getting through our days not feeling too down, and doing well.
How good our God is... that He sees our need in the spirit -even before the effects of that need are made known in the visible world- and God sends reinforcements to strengthen us. Encouragement, a hearty challenge, spiritual-ammo can come from many sources: preaches, radio, blogs, etc. But "reinforcements" are living breathing people who God sends to us in His perfect timing to help strengthen the spiritual framing of our lives.
I'm thankful for a friend who made a surprise visit to our coast this week. We had dinner with Rick Munn, who happened to arrive as Rae and I were putting up the tree. (That's 3 BIGGIES you've been there for, Rick: 1) when we first met 2) when we wed 3) and now our first Christmas tree! ...if you're planning on making the birth, let us know so we can get you a hospital pass.)
Our spirits were energized by his presence. It's weird when God sends reinforcements, because on the outside our bodies can seem tired, but the Lord looks within (searching the heart)- and our hearts felt refreshed by simply being able to breathe the same air for a while. And what power there is in prayer! Thank you, Lord!
Keep your eyes alert for the reinforcements God sends your way. It's a wonderful thing. Soak it in!

(No. That's not snow, just a little rain. Tomorrow is December 3rd and the forecast is: Sunny skies (i love it!))
